Support Al Otro Lado as we defend and protect migrant families!

I co-founded Al Otro Lado in 2011 and am currently the Legal Director. I manage the Los Angeles Office of Al Otro Lado where we operate a medical-legal partnership on the grounds of LA County Hospital serving undocumented and uninsured patients and their families. We also operate the only mobile immigration legal services program for homeless immigrants in Los Angeles. Our clients are survivors of domestic and sexual violence, child abuse, persecution in their countries of origin, individuals with severe medical and psychiatric disabilities, the elderly, the LGBTQ community, transition-aged youth, individuals with HIV and other chronic illnesses, individuals struggling with addiction, and anyone else in need of legal services. All of our services are free and our service model is holistic and multi-disciplinary. Clients are connected with free mental health services, public benefits enrollment assistance, health and wellness classes, and Al Otro Lado staff works extensively with clients' other service providers (counselors, social workers, doctors, nurses) to make our services as trauma-informed as possible.
